Get "Green" Hair With Everyday Household Products

It's been around for ages, and it's probably in your kitchen cupboard. Apple Cider Vinegar is the bomb! It's chemical-free and it's cheap, and it makes the most excellent hair rinse! If it weren't for ACV, I wouldn't be able to achieve all these hairstyles that require some not-so-chemical-free hair products. I admittedly use a lot of product in my hair to achieve certain styles. I offset that buy cleansing my hair with all-natural, sulfate-free cleansers and conditioners. I absolutely love Dr. Bronner's liquid Castile soap. You know the one with all that writing all over the bottle. I use Dr. Bronner's to wash my hair, my undies, and to clean my toilet-yes, clean the twa-let! It will admittedly take some getting used to after the first couple of uses.

You may notice that your hair feels a little straw-y or hard, but your hair is in "shock" and will quickly adapt to it. I use the ACV full-strength, about a cup's worth after I shampoo to detangle and get all the residual product out. I leave it in for about 5 minutes (placing a plastic cap over my hair.) This is the last step after I shampoo and condition. Yeah, it smells like vinegar, but once your rinse your hair, the smell will dissipate. Or you can cut it with a little honey or diluted lemon juice and water. It keeps the frizz at bay, and your hair will be soft and silky. Give it a try!

Oooohhh, I'll have to give the ACV a try (maybe with a touch of honey!!). I love to use my homemade goat's milk CP soap as a shampoo bar...rinses clean away without stripping my hair :)

I was so amazed the first time I used vinegar. I use handmade soap as shampoo. I only condition every other wash or so and I use vinegar to rinse. It is amazing to me my hair is coarse and dry but since I started using "green" products my hair is so healthy. It has never been better. Remember if you try this give it a few wash's to prove itself to you it takes a little time for your hair to adjust to the shock it is used to crap. (yes even 40.00 products can be crap)
