Taking A Little Break

me, cousin, sister

My younger sister Myia is turning the big 3-0 this Sunday, so I'm taking the train to Manhattan this afternoon to spend the weekend with her. Why do I smell a disaster just waiting to happen?

I'm going with my aunt and cousin. I love my aunt to death, but how can I put this delicately? Ok, I can't. She can show her ass sometimes around strangers when she feels she's not being treated fairly-for whatever reason. I pray that no one bumps into her or forgets to bring her a fork when we go out to dinner on Saturday. All hell will break loose.

We're staying with my future in-laws, and I love them to death, but how can I put this delicately? Well, I can't. They are annoying as hell. Nitpick til you just wanna jump off the Brooklyn Bridge. I do love the perks of staying in Manhattan though. It's like Sex In The City-only without the 5000 wardrobe changes.

So, it's going to be an interesting weekend. Just family, food, and dare I say....fun? Stay tuned.

I wish I lived close enough to Manhattan to be able to go there on the train. I absolutely love it there but it's about 2,000 miles from me. :)

Have fun! You should take an extra fork in your purse and if your aunt's is forgotten, just slip it under her plate and pretend like it was there the whole time.

Have fun! Is your aunt old enough that you can just pretend she is crabby due to age? One of my old tricks when my hunny turns grouchy on strangers is to laugh at him like he is joking. It works about half of the time. Good luck and have a blast!

ps I just picked my tummy as my least favorite part and then my word verification word is belymbu bely??? What is mbu implying? Must Be U like it must be me eating all of the bread and cheese like it must of been me that finished off the ice cream last night??? am I paranoid?

Ha ha. Your post made me laugh (and wonder if your aunt LITERALLY shows her ass cause, well, that'd make for one funny story. When I have totally ridiculous days/weekends/weeks, I try to focus on what fun I'll have recounting the story to people. As a result, I have quite the stockpile of stories. Cute pic! Have fun...
