Shea My Name Hand and Body Lotion!

Shea my name, Shea my name....Now that damn song is stuck in my head! Oh well, here it is-the prototype of my new lotion. It's creamier (meaning thicker) than your average lotion because of the shea butter-that's unrefined shea butter thankyouverymuch! I'm on a permanent shea trip thanks to my friend over at Shea Bath. Thanks to The Soap Queen for making such a great video on how to make lotion. I thought it would be such an intimidating process, but it's actually very easy. The hard part is deciding on which scents to use.

My testers are hard at work (yeah, right) lotioning themselves up and down. I have them testing for consistency, texture, feel on the skin, and scent, of course. Personally, in my completely unbiased opinion, these lotions are the bomb! I've been using it for a week, and my skin just drinks this stuff up! My cuticles are blessing me right now because they're like "What took you so long to make this freakin' stuff?" If all goes well, I hope to have these listed by month's end.

I couldn't agree more...the hardest part about lotion making is picking out the fragrance and fab ingredients! I'm so glad you liked the video. Thanks for the shout out =)

congrats on expanding on your empire. It does look creamier. I'm using Vaseline lotion and it's so thin.

That's an Excellent Addition Patrice. soap, body gel and lotions all work well in shea butter. we did some shea and coconut butter for jars when I was in atl last week. the shea lotion we use also has coconut butter in it. we do a hair conditioner that has shea and coconut butter as the base and some other herbs and oils in it. it sells like fire.

Love your witty product names! You're so good at coming up with stuff like that!

I made my lotion with a base that someone else made when I first started selling. But after I tried making it myself I could never go back! Something about watching the water and oils emulsify is almost as mesmerizing as watching the lye water and oils make soap!

I will be keeping an eye out for those. I never needed lotion when I lived in CA but here in CO it is super dry all the time. I need some good lotion!! Can't wait to see what scents you end up picking :)
