Decisions, Decisions...

Soap makers and soap lovers: Does all of your packaging look the same or do you love a certain aesthetic? I'm torn between clean minimalism and making a statement. See, the problem is, some of these options would increase my shipping charges, and I definitely do not want to do that. Here's a little sampling:

This one's cute. But only the soaps I make in my silicone brownie pan will fit in these boxes. Plus it adds extra weight to my shipments.

This is my preferred method of packaging. Clean. Simple. Elegant. The paper is thin so you can smell right through it. And the paper can be recycled or reused for other projects...but...you can't easily see the soap!

I love these muslin bags. They give the soaps a real exclusive feel, and you can re-use them for storing your trinkets and  makeup and stuff. The only thing is, I'd have to use tags for labeling. They don't look pretty to me just slapping them on the bags.

I love these soap boxes. But, again, they'll add weight to shipping, and only the soaps I make in my silicone loaf pans will fit in them.

And, lastly, these uber-convenient shrink wrap bands. I love that it covers all but the top of the soap, icky hands won't be all over the soap, and you can see the soap in its full glory. I really like these, but they just aren't "pretty" lol!

So, whaddya think?

Hmmm, I like the look of the paper wrapped ones but it would be nice to see the soap. Have you thought about white organza bags? I feel like I can see the soap well enough and yet it's covered and I can smell it too. Also, what about those cellophane/treat bags? They are pretty thin and I can smell the soap through them as well.

I am IN LOVE with the paper ones!! So pretty! How cute would that look in a guest bathroom/bridesmaid gift basket/etc.

They are all good options! I think that the shrink wrap is fine. The label still adds a pretty, professional touch.

My first impression is the paper, so very pretty and elegant. I also like the pink and white stripe box (I'm sure you know why.) I would go for the paper. Sometimes surprises are fun! Unless it's your Fugly soap :)HAHAHA.
I have one other thought, which I use for the CP soap I have made I wrap it in Fabric with a ribbon band and label. for the Winter I wrapped it in a uber cute flannel that I cut with pinking shears and wrapped it up. For the Spring and Summer a pink and white polka dot seersucker.-Just wanted to add something else to make you have 1 more decision. Just remember it's what's on the inside that counts-and your insides ROCK!

I vote for the bottom one
I like to be able to see the soap myself. You work so hard to make it pretty why cover it up I figure

I like the wrapped in paper and the bottom one wrapped in shrink wrap the bestest! :)

The box would be really cute with a 'set' of some kind in it. A different colored ribbon to reflect the scent inside perhaps? XOXO

Shrink wrap is my fave, paper second. The rest just feel overpackaged, kwim? For me the less I have to throw out when I bring something home the better.

Love the responses!

I've definitely ruled out the boxes. I really don't like them. I was merely experimenting because I've seen so many other soap makers use them. They're just not for me.

I'm definitely keeping my paper. I love it: cute and cheap!

I think I'll try the shrink wrap on a few bars to see if it grows on me. I think I'll use those for my wholesale accounts.

The paper is the prettiest, but I like the clear cause I'd like to see the color and texture of the soap, this would be important to me.
