Staples For My Soap Arsenal

So I've been thinking: What are the scents that I want to carry all year round, all the time, winter, spring, summer, and fall..you get it! I have a terrible habit of just buying fragrances because I want to try them or because it's the hottest new trend or whatever. I make a batch of soap with it. I sell it. Then I move on to the next thing. There's no consistency or familiarity with my product line. THAT HAS TO STOP NOW!!! How can I brand myself if I'm constantly changing stuff?

Blah, blah, blah, and a million thoughts later, I decided on a few scents that I really like that I want to carry all the time, and here are a few:

Black Raspberry Vanilla

Blackberry Sage

Oatmeal, Milk & Honey

Chai Tea

Cucumber Mint (Ok, anything with cucumber..)

So, what are your "go to" or must-have scents, be it because you love them and/or because they're best-sellers for you?Handmade soap lovers: What are your go-to scents?

Well I don't sell yet but I would say that BRV and OMH are definite keepers. A castile and rosemary/mint are always well liked. I like the ones you have chosen to remake and keep in your line. Good choices!

Sandalwood can't stay in stock for me

I sells loads of Pomegranate and Gardenia, neither of which are particularly appealing to me, lol! I'm a bit like you, I love to try new scents (and EO combinations), so I have to be quite disciplined when it comes to keeping my bestsellers in stock. However, many of my customers are so used to there there being lots of new stuff that they now expect it! So I do lots of limited edition stuff too.

xx

I sell a lot of Black Raspberry as well as OMH, but my best seller is Stress Relief - mint & eucalyptus e.o.'s. Also sell a lot of lavender, which I never used to care for, but it's growing on me.

I don't have any go-to scent in particular...i have a bunch of them. They are all earthy (adirondac pine scent, oatmeal and almond). The pine scent sounds yucky, I know...it is actually very mild and refreshing. Don't worry, I don't walk around smelling like pine-sol! My only other go-to is orchid!

I can see a theme running through your picks. One of my go tos is sandlewood and patchouli, yes I am a smelly hippy. I like earthy natural scents generally.

I must agree that Oatmeal Milk and Honey is a keeper. I also love Energy- citrusy goodness!

My customer favorites are Lavender, Citrus Poppy Seed and Peppermint Lime. Personally I love pretty much any essential oil based scents, but my favorites are Cardamom Citrus, Clary Sage and anything and Coriander :).
