Bitch Post #11: My Chest Is Heavy Enough..
It's time to get some things off of it. Some of my Facebook Fans have already gotten an earful, but I thought I'd share with the general population:) In no particular order:
- You can only truly call it Castile soap if you only use olive and no other oils and/or butters!
- Soap makers who list a soap and only show the soap in its packaging. Where's the friggin soap?!
- Sellers who tell you that they'll leave you positive feedback if and only if you leave them positive feedback first. WTF??
- Entrecard droppers who don't drop back. It's common courtesy like saying "Hello" back to someone who says "Hello" to you.
- People who contact me about wholesaling my stuff, we work out the terms, I send them the bill, and then I never hear from them again (It's happened to me more than once in the last 6 months!)
- People who adopt, buy, or are given pets only to turn around and dump them after they realize that pets are like children-they need love, attention, medical care, etc. This really burns me up!
- When someone stops following my blog. It hurts a little. It's like saying, "Ugh, I don't like you anymore..." Yes, I do have a sensitive side, LOL.

I'm Felting! I'm Fellllttting!
I've discovered a new obsession: felted soap! About a year ago, I met this fabulous felt and fiber artist on Art Fire who bought tons of my soap so she could felt and sell it. It didn't dawn on me to try it my darn self-not until I met a fabulous woman who has a farm and raises llamas and makes her own yarn and roving and stuff. O--M--G! It is so soft. Pepper (the cat) and I keep rubbing our faces on it, LOL....
Felting the soap is not as easy as it looks. It requires lots of rubbing, mashing, smoothing, rinsing, repeating....Here's a how-to I found on YouTube. You don't need a washing board for this one. Pardon my ignorance, but who just has one of those laying around?
Practice makes perfect. Attn soapers: here's a new way to get rid of those ugly, misshapen, off-kilter soaps that you were just going to toss or give away. Why not felt it and sell it!?

Comical Soaps
I like soap makers with a sense of humor. There are some raunchy ones out there who shall remain nameless, but there are also some truly hilarious ones too who remind me of, well...me. Here are some of my favorite soaps with some of the funniest descriptions ever!
Pedicure by Dirty Sanchez
"imagine thunderdome here... but instead of two men entering and one man leaving, it’s your nasty-ass jacked-up feet versus my totally rad pedicure bar. the opponents face off... the battle rages... the crowd draws a collective gasp... who wins?"

Cool Hand Cuke
So I bought this scent Cucumber Mint on a total whim. I love the smell of mint in my soap. It's so refreshing and invigorating, and I try to use the scent every opportunity I get. I've always liked the Bath and Body Works cucumber scent because I think it smells really "clean" so here we are!
Cool Hand Cuke is a CPOP (cold processed oven processed) soap. While I love that CPOPing shortens the cure time, I'm not always pleased with the alligator texture of the soap once it's finished doing it's thing. In this case though it works. It's a rough and rugged soap on the outside, but cool as a cucumber inside...
These blocks are quite hefty too, and I'm not going to trim them at all. I like it as is. It's supposed to be rugged and raw. Since green is my favorite color, I couldn't wait to make this soap. I'm saving one for my own green bathroom.

And The Winner Is....
I'd like to thank everyone for participating in my New Year's Giveaway. This has been my most successful one on this blog to date, and that makes me feel really good!
Now without further ado, the winner was chosen via random.org, and I chose the winner based on the number of comments. Although there were 45 comments altogether, I did not include my own, of course, and there were 2 comments by the same person, so there were 43 comments in all. Congratulations to:
#37-Marcia P.
Congrats Marcia (do you pronounce that Mar-see-a or Mar-sha?) You've got 48 hours to contact me at thesoapseduction@verizon.net so I can send your goodies or I'll draw another name!
Again, thanks to everyone for participating, and I'll be doing another giveaway really soon!

Verbena Bobbitt
Know why I named this soap Verbena Bobbitt? Because it's scented in verbena, and I'm mad as hell at it! It was cut in a fit of rage then strategically pieced back together. Sound familiar?
It didn't come out the way I wanted, and the scent smells kind of off. I envisioned this lovely yellow soap with a lavender swirl. It is a gorgeous shade of yellow, but the lavender took a nose dive, so it's now a dusty-looking pale gray. This soap set up so quickly that when I I un-molded it, that it was rock hard. As I cut it, little pieces chipped off. I did a tongue zap test, and it's not lye heavy. Other than the aesthetics, there's nothing wrong with this soap. Like many others, it'll just have to grow on me....
Oh yeah, there's still time to enter my giveaway..heehee

Glycerin Bliss
So I was yacking on Facebook the other day about all the new stuff I had in the works, and here are a few new things I've created-all with glycerin (or M&P) soap. Speaking of which, I'm going to be unloading some molds soon-both plastic and silicone, so if you're interested, please be sure to check back soon.
First up is Soap And The City. I bet you can't guess the inspiration behind these soaps. I love Sex And The City, and just when I think I've discovered who I'm most like, I'm always discovering something new about myself that makes me change my mind. Today, I'm a definite cross between Miranda (really no-nonsense and determined) and Charlotte (very feminine and pristine.) Question: They live in New York City and have no black friends or acquaintances? C'mon! Okay, I just had to put that out there. Moving on.....
I just love these dress form molds and my shop colors were the logical choice to use for these soaps. Currently there are two: Soap In The City-Pink with contrasting black ribbon and scented in Pink Sugar and Soap in The City-Black with contrasting hot pink ribbon and scented in Lovely (the SJP dupe.) They're currently sold individually but can be purchased as a set.
Next up is Pair-A-Pears Soap. I love pears! I don't think they get enough credit. To me they're much more fragrant than apple with a grainier texture and crunch. They are delicious drizzled with chocolate and/or caramel, but I don't imagine they'd make a great pie-a tart maybe, but pie-uh, uh.
I scented these in Bartlett & Basil because I don't like straight fruit scents (except lemon, lime, and grapefruit). I even added some tarragon leaves to it because, well, they just look like plain ole pears without them, lol.
Stay tuned for more new stuff, and don't forget to enter my giveaway. Everybody needs soap-and it's free!

New Year, New Me
Happy New Year! I cannot believe we are in a new decade, can you? I remember celebrating the new millennium as if it were yesterday (only cuz I was sick as a dog and high on cough syrup with codeine.) So much has happened in the last 10 years. Let's do a brief recap shall we?
- I've lost too many loved ones to even count, but I've made many new friends.
- I changed jobs 4 times-but I remained in the same industry.
- I've moved only twice-which is a world record for me (At one point I was moving every 1.5 years!)
- I've lost and gained the same twenty pound and then some (OMG, did you see Eric from the Biggest Loser last week? He gained practically ALL of the weight back!)
- I started a business!!!
